In keeping with the previous five Conjugate Margins Conferences, we are planning an exciting and topical program of oral and poster presentations, poster displays, corporate and related displays, Geological/Geophysical data room, short courses, field trips, core workshop and social and networking events.
Please note that the final conference program will be determined based on submitted abstracts for oral presentations. The conference organizers reserve the right to change the draft program and schedule in response to abstracts received or any other factors that could influence the event.
Our current Program & Schedule of Events, Oral Presentations & Schedule, and Poster Presentations List are available below.
Please note that like all other conferences, there will probably be minor adjustments to the program over the period up to the event. We will advise all authors of the final program, post it here, and announce on social media and advertisements.
Field Trips
Two pre-meeting field trips are planned for participants to visit spectacular coastal outcrops of Paleozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary basins and in Nova Scotia.
- Petroleum systems of the Paleozoic and Mesozoic basins of Atlantic Canada: registration closed — fully subscribed
- Onshore equivalents of the Cretaceous reservoir rocks of the Scotian Basin: detrital petrology, tectonics and diagenesis: registration closed — fully subscribed
Short Courses
Two educational opportunities will be available to conference delegates through two highly relevant salt-related classroom and field short courses (pre- and post-meeting).
- The Geology of Salt-Bearing Passive Margins. Instructor: Mark J. Rowan, Rowan Consulting, USA — Registration closed; fully subscribed
- Salt Tectonics Field Seminar: Diapirs and Associated Deformation. Instructor: Ian Davison, Earthmoves, UK: registration closed — fully subscribed
Workshop
- Scotian Basin Clastic and Carbonate Reservoirs, Facies & Sequences. Instructor: Les Eliuk, Geotours, Canada and others. This one-day post-conference workshop will offer participants a combination of oral and poster presentations and the examination of conventional cores of siliciclastic and carbonate reservoirs from offshore Nova Scotia.
